LUSH Cosmetics, which has dozens of stores across the US, has renewed its Charity Pot Grant for a second year for Doc2Doc. This grant goes to the South Sudan program and will help provide health care and save lives. LUSH will sell Doc2Doc branded Charity Pots in its US stores through 2013. Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) convenes global leaders to create and implement innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. Doc2Doc was the first ever commitment made at the inaugural CGI and has received ongoing support from President Clinton and the staff at CGI ever since.
CGI Annual Meetings have brought together more than 150 heads of state, 20 Nobel Prize laureates, and hundreds of leading CEOs, heads of foundations and NGOs, major philanthropists, and members of the media. To date CGI members have made more than 2,300 commitments, which have improved the lives of over 400 million people in more than 180 countries. When fully funded and implemented, these commitments will be valued at more than $73.1 billion.
Every Mother Counts is an advocacy and mobilization campaign to increase education and support for maternal mortality reduction globally. Every Mother Counts seeks to engage new audiences to better understand the challenges and the solutions while encouraging them to take action to improve the lives of girls and women worldwide. EMC was founded by Christy Turlington Burns and has provided support for Doc2Doc’s South Sudan program.
JBF Worldwide focuses on the empowerment of women and children living within impoverished and underdeveloped communities through the implementation of initiatives that enable food security; provide access to educational resources; assist in disaster relief and medical aid; and promote peace and development through sport. JBF sponsors Doc2Doc’s program in Malawi, which will provide millions of dollars of medical supplies and equipment to the country in 2012-2013. President Joyce Banda is an avid supporter of JBF and Doc2Doc.
